Samaritan Care Center

Did you know we have medical equipment in the SCC for loan?

What is the Samaritan Care Center?

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Deacons began the Samaritan Care Center in the fall of 1999.  Since its inception, the Samaritan Care Center has shown remarkable growth.

The mission of the Samaritan Care Center is "To love and care for the Body of Christ at Trinity, and to serve as Good Samaritans to those in need."

To date, over 123 trained volunteers have faithfully ministered to well over 500 members, immediate family members and friends of Trinity through over 24,000 separate contacts!

Just as the Good Samaritan demonstrated in practical ways how "to love your neighbor as yourself," the Samaritan Care Center seeks to offer practical assistance to those in need.

When the Samaritan saw the injured man, he had compassion. He:
  •  Gave him first aid
  •  Bandaged his wounds
  •  Took him to an inn
  •  Took care of him
  •  Paid the bill

What are some of the ministries of the Samaritan Care Center?

The Samaritan Care Center is constantly developing new ministries as needs are identified:
  •  Hospital and homebound visitation by trained volunteers

  •  Emergency meals and supplies are delivered

  •  Food and equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers are available in the Deacon's closet

  •  Phone calls and cards offering care and support are made

  •  Transportation is provided for worship
    services, doctor visits and emergencies
  •  Communion is taken to the homebound

  •  Prayer partners are provided and the Trinity Family Prayer List is prepared and maintained through follow up calls

  •  Community referrals are made

  •  Parish Nurse is committed to ministering to the whole person, body, mind and spirit by visiting, help with health education and resource information
May I volunteer in the Samaritan Care Center?

Yes! We are always looking for campassionate and caring individuals to support this vital ministry.

Volunteers from the congregation at large are involved in the Samaritan Care Center… not just Deacons!
